Where is Sunshine Pottery located?

We are located at 260 Grand Ave., Englewood, NJ 07631. We are tucked in behind Evergreen restaurant in the rear of the building. You can also find us off of Forest Avenue , watch for our oversized Sunshine Pottery sign, and come up the driveway. There’s lots of free parking in front of our studio.

What are our hours? Do we need a reservation?

Our hours vary, due to parties and programs on and off site, we strongly suggest you call to check the schedule for availability.

What age groups do you cater too?

We welcome artists of all ages, from 0 to 99+! Even the youngest guests, like babies, can participate by finger painting or making hand or footprints on pottery. It’s a beautiful way to capture how small they are today on a special piece of pottery that will last a lifetime. All skill levels are welcome, so whether you’re a seasoned artist or trying pottery for the first time, we have something for you.

Is your studio inclusive?

Absolutely! Sunshine Pottery & Paint is dedicated to being an inclusive and sate space for all artists of all backgrounds. We welcome guests of all ages, genders, races, and skill levels. Our studio is a place for everyone to explore their creativity in a supportive and friendly environment.

Are you handicapped accessible ?

Yes we are. We also have a very large parking lot of accommodate buses and ramps.

When will my pottery be done?

Typically within 2 weeks your pieces will be ready to be picked-up. However, often we have an abundance of pottery to fire and it could take longer. We will call you or e mail you when your pieces are ready.

How do I book a party or event?

Call the studio and we will give you all the information, details and availabilities. We can be reached at 201-541-5559

Do you offer any programs for schools or organizations?

Yes, we host field trips and offsite events, as well fundraising event events, where a portion of the proceeds, go back to the school or charity. Call for more details.

Do you call when the pottery is done?

Yes. During your visit you fill out a customer contact sheet. We call the number you provided and leave a voice message if you do not answer. When your pottery is ready for pick up BE Sure to Contact Us before you pick up as our hours vary. If you would like we can leave your pottery in our Dropbox, please be sure to give us a couple of days notice. Pottery left after 60 days are subject to donation or disposal due to space limitations.
When you come to pick up your pottery and have kids in the car, give us a call when you arrive and we will bring it out to you.

Any tips on how to prepare before painting?

Absolutely! We recommend washing your hands before you start painting, especially it you recently applied lotion or eaten, to ensure your pottery turns out beautifully and without any resisting issue which may cause firing defects.

What happens if I accidentally break a pottery piece while painting?

If you accidentally break a piece you’re painting, we understand that accidents happen. We offer a 75% discount on a replacement piece so you can continue your project. If the piece can be repaired after firing, we will do so and charge the full price for the item.

What if the breakage is due to careless behavior?

In cases where breakage results from carelessness, such as knocking items off a shelf or table, or from horseplay, we must charge a breakage fee of 50% of the item’s cost. This helps us maintain a respectful and safe environment for everyone.

What happens if my piece gets broken in the baking process?

We are a paint your own pottery studio. All our pottery is purchased from various suppliers. We do not make any of the ceramic pieces. There are unusual circumstances, out of our control, where a piece of pottery cracks or the finish shivers / peels off, during the firing/baking process, due to a manufacturing defect. In the event this should occur, we offer the client a replacement (if still in stock ) and or another piece of pottery of equal value to repaint in the studio. There is no refund as this is out of our control however we issue credit to be used anytime during studio hours.
